Insta-Peel DTF Film Coming Soon: Our Early Testing Results

Insta-Peel DTF film roll being tested with a colourful transfer peeled from black fabric in a professional print shop.

TL;DR: DTF Transfers Australia has started testing a new Insta-Peel DTF film that is expected to arrive in late August 2026. Early testing has been exceptional, with a slightly softer hand feel and strong results on some of the harder-to-print materials we work with. We are also testing new adhesive options, but we have not yet completed our own Low Temp Adhesive iron-on testing.

What Is Insta-Peel DTF Film?

We are excited to share that DTF Transfers Australia is currently testing a new Insta-Peel DTF film that is expected to become part of our production process in late August 2026.

This new film is designed as an instant hot peel DTF film, which means the transfer can be peeled quickly after pressing when used correctly. For busy decorators, brands, small businesses and print shops, this type of film has the potential to make fitting transfers faster and more efficient.

The manufacturer lists this film as a 100μ double-sided DTF PET film with instant hot peel performance. While those technical details are important, what matters most to us is how it performs in real production conditions, using our equipment, our workflow and the types of orders our customers actually place.

Our Early Testing Results

We were supplied a roll of this film early so we could begin testing before the wider release. So far, the results have been exceptional.

We have run the Insta-Peel film through real-world testing rather than only relying on manufacturer claims. This includes checking print quality, peel behaviour, press results and how the finished transfer feels once applied to garments and other suitable materials.

Our early results have been very positive. The film has performed cleanly, the prints have looked sharp, and the overall finish has been impressive.

A Slightly Softer Hand Feel

One of the first things we noticed during testing is that prints made with this film appear to have a slightly softer hand feel.

In simple terms, hand feel refers to how the print feels when you touch or wear the garment. A softer hand feel can make the finished product feel more comfortable, especially on larger prints or garments where comfort matters.

DTF transfers are already known for strong colour, detail and versatility, but the feel of the finished print is still an important part of the customer experience. If this film continues to perform as well as it has in early testing, it may become a very strong option for customers wanting a clean, professional transfer with a slightly softer finish.

Testing on Harder Materials

We have also used this film on some of the harder-to-print materials we work with, and the results have been good so far.

Not every material behaves the same way under a heat press. Some fabrics and products can be more difficult than standard cotton T-shirts, especially when it comes to adhesion, surface texture, heat sensitivity or overall print finish.

Because of this, we do not judge a new film only on easy test prints. We want to know how it behaves when the job is less forgiving. Early testing with the Insta-Peel film has been very promising in this area.

As always, we still recommend testing before full production when working with unusual fabrics or materials. DTF is versatile, but no single transfer type is perfect for every possible surface.

New Adhesive Testing

Along with the new Insta-Peel film, we have also been supplied new Medium White and Black adhesives for testing.

We are currently working through these tests carefully. Adhesive performance is a major part of DTF transfer quality because it affects how the print bonds to the garment, how it handles washing, and how it performs across different materials.

We do not want to rush this stage. Before we make any firm claims or add new adhesive options into production, we want to complete proper testing and make sure the results meet the standard our customers expect from DTF Transfers Australia.

What About Iron-On DTF Transfers?

The manufacturer has advised that this film can be used with the new Low Temp Adhesive as an iron-on style transfer. This is an exciting possibility, but we want to be very clear: we have not completed our own testing on this yet.

At the time of writing, we are still waiting to receive the new Low Temp Adhesive. Once it arrives, we will begin testing it properly with the Insta-Peel film.

This is important because DTF Transfers Australia does not want to make promises based only on supplier information. If we are going to offer or recommend a transfer for lower-temperature application or possible iron-on use, we need to test it ourselves first.

Once the Low Temp Adhesive has arrived and we have completed our own testing, we will let everyone know what our results have been.

When Will It Be Available?

We are expecting the new Insta-Peel film and related new products to be in place by late August 2026, provided testing and supply timelines stay on track.

At this stage, our plan is to continue testing the film, the new Medium White and Black adhesives, and then the new Low Temp Adhesive once it arrives.

We would rather take the time to test properly than rush a product into production before we are confident in the results.

Final Thoughts

The early results from the new Insta-Peel DTF film have been exceptional. The print quality has been strong, the film has performed well in testing, and the slightly softer hand feel is a welcome improvement.

We are especially encouraged by how it has handled some of the harder-to-print materials we have tested so far.

There is still more testing to complete, especially around the new adhesive options and the upcoming Low Temp Adhesive, but this is a very promising step forward for DTF Transfers Australia.

If everything continues to go well, we expect the new Insta-Peel film and related products to be in place by late August 2026.

Customers can continue to order our current DTF transfers and gang sheets through the website, and we will share more updates as testing progresses.
